How "Payment for Services" Works
at New River Health Association

At New River Health Association we try to assist you as much as we can with making the payment-for-services process less stressful. In most cases, our staff will be able to bill your commercial insurance carrier for you. To facilitate this process, we would appreciate your bringing your insurance card with you to your health center appointment. We ask that you pay the portion of your bill that will not be paid by your insurance company at the time of service.

Our Medicare patients pay no deductibles for care at any of our clinics. However, Medicare patients are responsible for their twenty percent coinsurance payment. Our Medicaid patients must select New River Health Centers as their Primary Care Provider. Medicaid patients should bring their Medicaid cards with them to each visit.

We offer a Sliding Fee Scale for patients, providing fees based on income levels. Our staff will be happy to help you determine your eligibility for this program.

Some patients may be eligible for health care services through an affiliated public health program. We offer free or reduced price services for eligible people, through contracts with the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health. These include:

Family Planning
Children Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Black Lung Clinic Services
Women's Cancer Screening

If you are a member of a managed care plan, consult our office staff to determine if New River Health Association is a provider for your plan. For more information on these and other services centered on the teenage years, please call us at (304) 469-2905.
